Back to You: Easing Into Your Fitness Routine This September

Summer has a way of throwing every routine out the window, doesn't it? Between holidays, late nights, barbecues, and squeezing in as much sunshine as possible, the gym probably took a back seat. And that's okay. That's what summer is for.
But now the nights are drawing in, the kids are back at school (or about to be), and there's that familiar September feeling in the air; a fresh start, a chance to reset. If you're ready to get back into a routine, here's how to do it in a way that actually sticks, without the guilt or the burnout.
Ditch the "All or Nothing" Mindset

The biggest mistake we see this time of year is women trying to go from zero to a hundred in one week. You missed six weeks, so you're going to hit the gym five days, cut out every treat, and become a completely new person by October, right?
WRONG. That approach is a fast track to exhaustion, frustration, and quitting by week two.
Instead, think of September as a rebuild, not a punishment. Your body remembers how to move, it just needs a gentle reminder, not a shock to the system.
Start With One or Two Sessions a Week
If you were training regularly before summer, you might be tempted to jump straight back to your old schedule. Give yourself permission to ease in instead. One or two sessions in your first week back is plenty. You'll rebuild consistency first, then intensity will follow naturally.
Consistency beats intensity every single time. Someone who shows up two times a week for a
month will always be ahead of someone who goes all-out twice and then can't move for a week.

Expect to Feel Unfit — That's Normal

Even a few weeks off can make familiar workouts feel harder than you remember. Your heart rate might climb faster, your muscles might protest sooner, and that's completely normal. It doesn't mean you've lost all your progress; it means your body is simply waking back up.
Be kind to yourself in these first sessions. Lower the weight, shorten the run, take the extra rest, your fitness comes back far quicker than it took to build the first time.
Set One Simple Goal, Not Five

Rather than overhauling your nutrition, sleep, training, and mindset all at once, pick one thing to focus on this month. Maybe it's simply showing up to your classes twice a week. Maybe it's
drinking more water. Maybe it's just walking through our doors again, no pressure attached.
One small, achievable goal builds momentum. Momentum builds habits. Habits build results.
Bring a Friend
Accountability makes everything easier. If you've got a friend who's also easing back in after summer, bring them along. Book into a class together, commit to a session each week, and use each other as the reason you show up on the day’s motivation is low.
Not sure who to bring? That's what our community is for. Chat to someone at the front desk or in a class — chances are, several other women in the room are having exactly the same "getting back into it" September as you.

Our Timetable Is Ready When You Are
Whether you're coming back to your favourite class, trying something new, or simply booking in for a gentle reintroduction session, our timetable has options for wherever you're starting from.
No judgement. No pressure. Just a warm, welcoming space to find your rhythm again.
See you in the studio, or on the gym floor this month.
